The Rock Island, Illinois City Council held a study session Monday at City Hall to review motions on the table for the next city council meeting.

Among them is a proposal to lease nine Ford F-150 pickup trucks from Enterprise Fleet Inc. at a price of $71,655.84.

The city also reviewed a number of variance and permit requests, including one from UnityPoint Health to vacate a segment of 27th Avenue to make room for a 30 space parking lot and another from the Department of Public Works to adjust right-of-way rules for excavations. Other requests included a permit for a new digital signboard for Poor Boys Pizza and Pub and a request from Nicole Appelquist to operate a hair salon in her home at 4419 7th Ave.

The council also reviewed a $1.1 million payment to Gilbane Building Co. for police department construction and a police request for a new $16,584 fingerprint scanner.

The council is expected to take up these and other items at their regular meeting Monday, Feb 15.
