Backstop and dugout repairs are on the way for Green Valley.
The Moline Committee of the Whole approved the city's request to accept a $107,000 contract with Lovewell Fencing Inc. for renovations to backstop/dugout #5 at the Green Valley Sports Complex.
The measure passed by a 5-2 vote, with aldermen Stephanie Acri and Mike Wendt voting in opposition. The pair tried to postpone the vote until the council received the results of the Prospect Park Pavilion study.
The city also authorized USCOC of Greater Iowa LLC to update the equipment previously managed by U.S. Cellular on top of the water tower on 17th Avenue. It also approved a $147,820.30 contract with Walter D. Laud Inc. for the 2016 Inlet and Catch Basin Replacement Program.
