Rock Island Neighborhood Partners will begin its election process on March 28.

Local organization Rock Island Neighborhood Partners has announced that its meeting scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Monday, March 28, at the police department building will include election nominations, presentations and strategic review for its path moving forward.

Following a presentation on the Community Caring Conference, an organization to help connect neighbors with one another and improve block clubs, committees and work groups plan to present reports on community solutions, communications, school-community relations and neighborhood leadership factions.

The school community task force has been actively collecting and distributing school supplies and has been considering ways to standardize communication among school principals electronically. Its recent discussions have included safe routes to school and school snack availability.

Strategic plan review for both the year’s end and the future will precede nominations from the floor for the group’s upcoming election. The next meeting will be confirmed for 6:30 p.m. on May 31 at the MLK Community Center.

Rock Island Neighborhood Partners encourages all local districts to represent themselves at meetings with at least one delegate. Its mission is to fortify Rock Island’s community by developing stronger working partnerships among neighborhoods, local government, service agencies, schools, churches and businesses; and to improve neighborhoods’ quality of life and morale via education, self-sufficiency and user-friendly municipal services.

The group will meet in the police department’s community room at 1212 Fifth Ave.
