The Moline City Council met March 8 at Moline City Hall to give the first reading of several amendments to the city's traffic code.

The proposed changes include removing the left turn restriction for Seventh Street and 32nd Avenue between 2:30 and 3 p.m. on school days, adding a "right turns only" rule for the same intersection on school days when children are in the area, and changing the fee schedule for traffic violations.

The council also approved the final plat map for Hark Hollow, a $306,375 sidewalk replacement contract with Centennial Contractors of the Quad Cities LLC, and a $129,255 contract with Tri City Blacktop Inc. for pavement sealing.

The meeting was adjourned after 23 minutes.
