Hampton trustees gather to discuss auditor's report

The Hampton Township board of trustees met Monday, June 20.

Here are the meeting minutes as provided by the Hampton Township board of trustees:

CHARTER TOWNSHIP OF HAMPTON REGULAR MEETING JUNE 20, 2016

The regular meeting of the Charter Township of Hampton Board of Trustees was called to order at 7:00 p.m. by the Supervisor in the Boardroom of the Hampton Township Administrative Offices.

The pledge of allegiance was given to the flag.

The invocation was read and a moment of silence observed.

PRESENT: Foret, Klass, Hugo, Wright, Esterhai, Wisniewski, Samyn ABSENT: None ALSO PRESENT: Runde, Weiler, Hewitt & 7 people in audience

Motion by Hugo seconded by Klass that the minutes of the June 6, 2016 regular meeting be approved as printed and that the reading of the minutes be waived. Motion carried.

COMMUNICATIONS:

Motion by Esterhai seconded by Wisniewski that the Fire Report for May 2016 and the Police Report for May 2016 be received. Motion carried.

AUDITORS REPORT:

Motion by Esterhai seconded by Wisniewski that the following warrants be approved for payment:

#41940 - #42007 General Fund $ 108,831.32 #2944 - #2945 Building Fund 1,634.41 #1095 - #1096 Road Fund 4,751.04 #3356 - #3364 Sewer Fund 17,365.66 #1947 - #1960 Public Safety Fund 34,318.40 #1301 - #1305 Water Fund 2,032.82 $168,933.65

AYES: Esterhai, Wisniewski, Klass, Hugo, Samyn, Wright, Foret NAYS: None Motion carried.

UNFINISHED BUSINESS:

There was no unfinished business.

NEW BUSINESS:

Motion by Hugo seconded by Wisniewski to approve the purchase of two (2) ASB pumps from HydroDynamics at a cost of $8,315.64 from the ERR Fund.

AYES: Hugo, Wisniewski, Klass, Esterhai, Samyn, Wright, Foret NAYS: None Motion carried.

Motion by Hugo seconded by Foret to approve the support pledge to Bay Future for a $2500.00 contribution for the years 2016; 2017 & 2018.

AYES: Hugo, Foret, Klass, Wisniewski, Esterhai, Samyn, Wright NAYS: None Motion carried.

Motion by Hugo seconded by Foret to hire Chad Bukowski as seasonal help starting June 21, 2016; not to exceed 1,039 hours total.

AYES: Hugo, Foret, Wisniewski, Klass, Esterhai, Samyn, Wright NAYS: None Motion carried.

Motion by Esterhai seconded by Hugo to name Lt. Bryan Benchley as Interim Police Chief effective July 1, 2016 at 80% of current Chief pay.

AYES: Esterhai, Hugo, Wisniewski, Klass, Samyn, Wright, Foret NAYS: None Motion carried.

Motion by Wright seconded by Esterhai to authorize the Police Chief to start process of accepting applications for the position of police officer with the purpose of accepting applications to establish a list of candidates. Motion carried.

Motion by Hugo seconded by Foret to approve the Employment Agreement for Campground Manager Ellen Lutz with no pay increase.

AYES: Hugo, Foret, Esterhai, Klass, Wisniewski, Samyn, Wright NAYS: None Motion carried.

ATTORNEY REPORT:

Hewitt had no report.

ENGINEER REPORT:

Bartow was not present.

STANDING COMMITTEE REPORTS:

Motion by Hugo seconded by Wisniewski that the minutes of the June 9, 2016 Planning Commission meeting and the June 16, 2016 Board of Appeals meeting be received. Motion carried.
