Augustana College announces three 2017 concerts for Jenny Lind Vocal Ensemble
Augustana College recently announced that its Jenny Lind Vocal Ensemble will perform “Anchored & Unbound: Songs of Faith, Hope & Freedom” at three concerts in 2017.
The first concert will be held at 2 p.m. on Jan. 22 at Grace Lutheran Church, which is located at 714 E. Capitol Ave. in Springfield.
The second concert will be held at 2 p.m. on Jan. 29 at First Lutheran Church, which is located at 114 E. Main St. in Geneseo.
The final concert will be held at 4 p.m. on Feb. 4 in Centennial Hall on Augustana’s main campus.
Directed by Michael Zemek -- with accompanist Gail Baldwin -- the group is a select women’s ensemble.
Through the ensemble, singers can develop advanced choral skills. The ensemble is named after Jenny Lind, a Swedish opera singer from the 19th century.
