Village of Rapids City Village Board met March 14.
Here is the minutes as provided by the Board:
This Regular Board meeting was called to order by President Rankin at 7:10p.m.
All present joined in the Pledge of Allegiance.
ROLL CALL: Present – Corson, Clark, Fowler, Mire, Schneider, and Doty.
Absent –
Also Present – Missy Housenga, Clayton Lee, Chris Cooper -MSA, McNeill-HPD, Sarah
Ford, Ryan Bump, Benjamin & Brianne Barber, Mr. & Mrs. Dick Robertson, Richard Feims.
A quorum was established.
CONSENT “Omnibus” Agenda: Schneider motioned to approve 2-14-17 minutes, 2/17
Treasurer’s Report, 3/17Monthly bills. Mire seconded. All present voted yes. Motion carries.
PRESIDENT-Rankin: Rankin reported two thank you cards were received from Riverdale Education Foundation and Family Reading Night for donations given.
POLICE REPORT - Chief Engle: Report as presented.
FIRE REPORT- Chief Carey: Report as presented.
ATTORNEY-Clayton Lee - : No report.
BUILDING & ZONING –Mire: 3 General, 1 new construction, 1 plumbing permit.
CEMETERY –Clark: Report as presented from MSA. Clark reported 2 benches were in
but waiting for better weather to place them.
ELECTIONS –Rankin: Reminder the Election is April 4th, 2017, check Rock Island
County website to see where to vote. Mire added early voting is March 16, 2017.
FINANCE -Corson: Riverdale Unified Booster requested a donation for Golf
Tournament, Corson approved donation. Rankin requested a Committee of the Whole all
agreed to March 27th, 2017 at 6pm. Lee will not make the meeting.
ORDINANCE & LICENSES –Corson: No report.
PARKS & RECREATION –Clark: No report.
PERSONNEL –Corson: No report.
PLANNING –Mire: No report.
PUBLIC SAFETY - Doty: No report.
PUBLIC WORKS – Fowler: No report.
SEWER –Schneider: Report as presented by Chris Cooper with MSA. Sewer project has not started yet, but setup has per Bump.
WASTE MANAGEMENT – Fowler: Village clean up day is May 6th, 2017 from 9am to 12pm.
WATER –Schneider: No report.
OLD BUSINESS: None.
NEW BUSINESS: None.
PUBLIC DISCUSSION: Sarah Ford contacting candidates next week for information for Dispatch article.
With nothing further to be discussed Schneider motioned /Mire seconded to adjourn and
all concurred, President Rankin adjourned this March 14, 2017-regular meeting at 7:33 p.m.
