Village of Hampton Board of Trustees met July 31.

Here is the minutes provided by the Board:

Members present: President Richard Vershaw

Trustee Heintz Trustee King (7:28) TrUStee Van Dieren Trustee Goodman Trustee Adams

Chief Engle Supervisor McKay

Members absent: Trustee Hamilton

In accordance with the Open Meetings Act, this meeting was tape recorded.

President Vershaw called the meeting to order at 7:04 PM. Clerk Bergeson called the roll noting a quorum present.

President Vershaw called the meeting to order to discuss the Employee Handbook and several issues regarding the handbook and policies:

Ordinance #702 needs to be amended to remove the prior police chief. It will be noted that Supervisor McKay will continue to receive forty (40) hours of vacation. 

The board also discussed the use of compensation time. Compensation time will be earned when 40 hours of actual worked or earned time is used, this does not include compensation time already being scheduled or casual time, only vacation time will be recognized as actual worked time. 

The Employee handbook will be edited to correct a few grammatical mistakes. 

Discussion about insurance coverage in regards to when a non-village employee is in a village vehicle. Clerk Bergeson to contact insurance regarding such coverage. 

Discussion to amend the Budget and draft Ordinance to include Public Works employee, Tyler McLaughlin's "special" pay when in a trench hole. This was on the budget,

however, has fallen off the books and employee McLaughlin would like to have it. Clerk Bergeson to prepare an Ordinance to add Employee McLaughlin's "special rate of pay.

There being no further business, it was motioned by Trustee King, second by Trustee Adams, to adjourn until the next regular meeting. All in favor: "Aye". None opposed. Hamilton: absent. Motion carried. The meeting was adjourned at 7:48 PM.
