$5,000 in prizes will be handed out at this year's Whiteside County Republicans' "Oktoberfest and Drawdown" in Rock Falls, according to a news release.
The event will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 26, at the Candelight Inn, 2200 First Ave. The first-place prize is $2,017. Second place is $1,000, and third place is $500. It's not necessary to be present at the event to win.
Admission is a $100 donation and admits two people. Tickets can be bought from Whiteside County Republican members or by emailing the organization at whitesidegop@gmail.com. Only 100 tickets will be sold.
The Whiteside County Republicans is a political organization comprised of elected committee members from the 60 county precincts. The annual Oktoberfest is organized by the Whiteside County Republican Central Committee, which is in charge of the organization's operations and promotions.
