Congratulations to Hahn Ready Mix for the well-deserved recognition for their efforts in building an inclusive workforce. Hahn Ready Mix is a winner in the 2018 Iowa Job Honor Awards presented in partnership with the Iowa SHRM State Council.
Hahn Ready Mix is a family-owned business launched in Muscatine six generations ago. With 17 plants in Eastern Iowa and Western Illinois, the company now operates more than a hundred mixer trucks in and around the Quad Cities.
Hahn has a legacy of changing lives by providing opportunities for people with criminal convictions and other employment barriers. The company partners with IowaWORKS and Eastern Iowa Community College to hire newly-trained professional drivers. Their inclusive approach to hiring has provided the company with a competitive edge in the tight labor market. “It just fits our mold,” says vice president Griffin Hahn, “We want to do right by everybody. We're just here to get along and make a living and provide for our employees and the community.”
