Citing his commitment to economic improvement, the Illinois Growth PAC and Quad Cities Chamber of Commerce have endorsed Bill Long for the Rock Island County Board, District 15.

“We appreciate your commitment to economic development, regional cooperation and business growth,” the groups said in a letter to the candidate. “During your interview, we were really impressed with your ideas on collaborating to save the county money as well as reduction of the county board.”

An offshoot of the Quad Cities Chamber, Illinois Growth PAC is a non-partisan political action committee backing “pro-economy” candidates in state and local elections, according to the chamber’s website.

Bill Long is running for the Rock Island County Board, District 15.

The letter announcing the endorsements said Long had earned the title “watchdog” during his 10 years of attendance at county board and committee meetings.

During that time, Long served as a Republican Party committeeman for Rock Island County. A 50-year resident, Long and his wife raised six children and several grandchildren in Rock Island.
