Rock Island Fitness & Activity Center recently issued the following announcement.
Beginning on Wednesday, May 8, 2019, 6th Street between 17th and 18th Avenue will be closed to thru traffic for sewer repairs. The road closure is necessary for the safety of the crews performing the repair as well as the motoring public.
Motorists should detour on 9th Street between 17th and 18th Avenue.
Pending favorable weather, the anticipated completion date of this work is to be Wednesday, May 15, 2019.
Travel delays can be expected during the construction at or near this location. Please follow all posted construction signs for detour directions when needed and watch for trucks entering and leaving the construction zone.
The City of Rock Island is sorry for any inconvenience due to this work and appreciates the patience and consideration of the traveling public.
