City of Silvis Playground and Recreation Board met July 11.

Here is the minutes provided by the board:

Members present: Bruce Nelson, Bob Roman Chris Baker

Members absent: -- Juan Escontrias, Carrie Toland

Also present: City Administrator Jim Grafton, Dave Hays, City Clerk Jim Nelson, Damon Bautista and Rob Levi.

Bob Rpman called the meeting to order at 6:31 pm.

Bob Roman made a motion to accept the minutes from June as written. Motion seconded by Chris Baker.

All ayes – motion carried.

Bob Roman read the bills.

Bruce Nelson made a motion to pay all bills for the previous month. Motion seconded by Chris Baker. All ayes – motion carried.

Old business:

 Friendship Storage shed:

David Hays informed the Board that the plan is to start pouring the pad next week.

 Schadt Parking Lot:

Jim Grafton showed the board 3 separate bids for the work and the board decided to get more information

 Schadt Concession Stand

Jim Grafton passed out plans for the new concession stand/restroom at Shadt Park. Mr. Roman questioned the size of the actual room housing the concessions. This will be reviewed again at the next meeting.

 Street Light at McGehee Center

This was discussed and no plans were made

Rob Levi discussed the plans for the pollination station at Phipps Prairie. David Hays informed the Board that Mr. Grafton was going to get a second opinion.

New business:

o Moonlight Parade

No discussion

o Diamond Time for baseball & softball

Bob Roman made a motion to go to closed session to discuss a personnel issue as allowed in 5 ILCS 120/2(a).

Motion was seconded by Bruce Nelson. All ayes – motion carried.

The Silvis Playground & Recreation Board went into closed session at 7:17pm

The Silvis Playground and Recreation Board returned from closed session at 7:42pm.

Members present- Bob Roman, Bruce Nelson Chris Baker.

Vice President Roman announced that there was no action taken in closed session.

Bruce Nelson made a motion to adjourn the meeting
