City of Keithsburg City Council met May 8.

Here are the minutes provided by the council:

Mayor Reason opens the Meeting at 6:30 pm

Pledge of Allegiance

Alderman Present: Donnie Cox, Melonie McLaughlin, Ronnie Brock, Don Truitt, Shaun Tippie

Not Present: Chad Weeks

Public Comments:

1. Cash Receipts: Donnie motioned to approve, Don Seconded; Motion carried with all “Yes” votes.

2. Cash Disbursement: Don motioned to approve, Shaun Seconded; Motion carried with all “Yes” votes.

3. Minutes from last Month’s Meeting: Donnie motioned to approve, Melonie seconded; Motion carried with all “Yes” votes.

4. Water and Sewer

• Ion Solution plans on cleaning the Clarifier at the wastewater plant now that the weather is getting better, hopefully sometime in May or early June.

5. Maintenance Department

• Skyler would like to purchase a Mosquito Magnet which is an environmentally friendly option to kill mosquitos, purchase price is $1,000 this machine will be tested out at the campground. Ronnie motioned to approve, Melonie seconded; Motion carried with all “Yes” votes.

6. Fire Department: Breakfast May 27th, 2023 has been canceled and will be moved to a different date to be announced.

7. Police: nothing to report

8. Campground: Camping in the Upper campground for now. Will need Volunteers to help clean up. Flood water is going down.

9. Zoning: 1810 Jackson Street is to be marked Dangerous and Unsafe building.

• 410 Main Street, Guadalupe accepted the council offer of $6,000. Donnie motioned to approve, Melonie seconded; Motion carried with all “Yes” votes.

11. Other: Nothing to report
