PUBLIC COMMENT

Members of the Public are permitted to speak after standing and stating their names. Anyone wishing to make public comment will need to sign in on the public comment sign-in sheet. Public comment will be limited to 3 minutes per person, per subject. Park Board response to public comment is not required.

Comments may also be emailed until the day of the meeting, no later than 2:00 p.m., to parkboard@moline.il.us or to the Parks Administrative Assistant, at ybrolander@moline.il.us. Please type Public Comment in the Subject Line and these comments will be read at the Park Board Meeting.

Any person with disabilities who wishes to attend the meeting who requires a special accommodation in attending the meeting should notify the Park Office, (309)524-2424, at least 24 hours prior to the scheduled meeting.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES AND CONSENT AGENDA

Approval of minutes and all items under the consent agenda are considered to be routine in nature and will be enacted by one motion. There will be no separate discussions of these items unless a Board Member so requests, in which case, the item will be moved from the Consent Agenda and considered as the first item after approval of the Omnibus Vote.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES

Park and Recreation Board meeting minutes of February 29, 2024.

CONSENT AGENDA ITEMS

1. Approval and acceptance of departmental February/March bill payment and departmental February/March revenue, expenditures, capital projects, park reserve and cemetery reports.

2. Consideration of a Special Use Application for the Alzheimer’s Association to utilize Ralph Birks Recreational Trail/Ben Butterworth Parkway for their annual Walk to End Alzheimer’s. The event is to be held on Saturday, September 14, 2024, from 7:30am to 11:00am. Supporting information and special consideration requests are detailed on the Special Use Application.

3. Consideration of a Special Use Application for the Cornbelt Running Club to utilize the Ralph Birks Recreational Trail/Ben Butterworth Trail for their annual Quad Cities Distance Classic. The event is to be held on Sunday, May 12, 2024, from 7:30am to 10:30am. Supporting information and special consideration requests are detailed on the Special Use Application.

OMNIBUS VOTE

NON-CONSENT AGENDA ITEMS

1. Riverside Riverslide Change Order #8. (Eric Griffith, Director of Parks & Recreation)

Explanation: Attached is change order #8 for Park Board approval for a total of $6,552.52. Change order #8 includes additional painting on the bathhouse and a credit for chemical tanks & fittings.

Staff Recommendation: Staff recommends approval.

Fiscal Impact: As of 3/8/2024, the Riverside Riverslide Project, with the approval of change order #8, has had a total of $441,316.01 in change orders.
