City of Colona Public Works Committee met Aug 18.

Here is the agenda provided by the committee:

• Decide on a tree removal company. Start making arrangements. 

• Discuss the power issue at the campground. 

• Do we pay the propane bill for lot # 131 due to insufficient power. 

• Is it ok for tree removal by the campers, or the public. People are Asking why Larry Swemline is. They would have to sign a waiver for insurance purposes. 

• Getting ready for the street repaving. And were also refurbishing the parking up to the Businesses on Green Park Ave. Tiff district. 

• The Car Show at C.S.F.P. was a huge success. As well as the Sunday evening band on the Hennepin. 

• Meters have arrived. Start getting them installed. 

• Western Illinois won’t be able to help us out until late next year. 

• Will try Blackhawk College also. 

• Working on next years Budgets. 

• The 2004 red f-250 is on its last leg. Transmission is going out and the Rear main seal is leaking oil. 

• More issues with the 2008 backhoe, it’s not running right. Its time to surplus it. 

• Need to change the hiring age. From 18 to 16 years old. Can’t fill the positions at the current age requirements. 

• Getting bids on remodeling the restrooms at the C.S.F.P. pavilion.
