City of Moline Traffic Engineering Committee met April 7.

4. Request for all-way stop at the intersection of 54th St & 11th Ave C (Franklin Elementary).
Explanation: Request of the school district due to proximity to school and children crossing the street at this location.

5. AAA Rents at 4500 3rd Street is requesting authorization to park Second Division vehicles on the public right-of-way in the cul-de-sac west of property.
Explanation: City Ordinance reads;
SEC. 20-7501. PARKING OF TRUCKS AND OTHER VEHICLES ON PUBLIC RIGHT-OFWAY PROHIBITED.
(a) It shall be unlawful for any person to park a vehicle (Second Division), truck tractor, bus, trailer, house trailer, recreational vehicle, special mobile equipment, boat, or airplane within any alley, highway, street, right-of-way or public property located with the City.
(b) Every vehicle, trailer, boat or airplane parked in violation of this section is hereby declared to be a nuisance which may be abated by any police officer by removing and impounding such vehicle.
Definition of “Second Division” vehicle:
Those vehicles which are designed for carrying more than 10 persons, those designed or used for living quarters and those vehicles which are designed for pulling or carrying property, freight, or cargo and those motor vehicles of the First Division remodeled for use and used as motor vehicles of the Second Division

6. Request for all-way stop at the intersection of 25th Avenue & 8th Street Pl.
Explanation: Request received from resident. City is installing a shared-use path on the south side of 25th Avenue in 2027. This stop sign will function as a layer of protection for pedestrians using the path against drunk drivers.

7. Request for Installation of chevrons and other signage indicating a curve in the roadway in the 1800 block of Ave. of the Cities
Explanation: Resident request for additional traffic control here after their house was hit by errant vehicles on 2 occasions. The MUTCD recommends the addition of chevrons & curve signage due to the vehicle traffic on this roadway.

8. Request for the “No Parking Here to Corner” sign on the south side of 11th Avenue A, off of 31st Street, be moved further west.
Explanation: Resident is concerned for near misses between vehicles and sanitation trucks coming out of the 11th Avenue A cul-de-sac with vehicles that are parked close to the current “No Parking Here to Corner” sign on the south side of 11th Avenue A, off of 31st Street.
