Eric Sorensen, currently representing Illinois’ 17th District in the U.S. Congress, shared a series of updates via Twitter addressing a variety of issues and events. As a representative since 2023, Sorensen has been actively engaged in discussions regarding small businesses, veterans’ welfare, and recent incidents of violence.

On April 10, 2025, Sorensen tweeted about his meeting with the Quad Cities Chamber of Commerce. “Always great to see some friendly faces during my meeting with @ChamberQC,” he wrote. Sorensen detailed key topics of discussion, including support for small businesses, sustaining work at the local arsenal, and the impact of tariffs.

In a post on April 11, 2025, Sorensen highlighted his commitment to veteran support. “A few weeks ago, I visited the Veterans Assistance Commission of Winnebago County. Now, the work is being done in Washington to support our veterans,” he stated, underscoring the importance of comprehensive support for veterans.

On April 13, 2025, Sorensen addressed an alarming incident involving arson at the Pennsylvania Governor’s residence on Passover night. He tweeted, “Late last night someone set fire to the Pennsylvania Governor’s residence. Moreover, it happened on the first night of Passover, for which Governor Shapiro and his family are celebrating.” Thankfully, the family was unharmed, but Sorensen expressed concern over the event as an act of terrorism.

Eric Sorensen, born in Rockford, Illinois, in 1976, currently resides in Moline. He completed his Bachelor of Science at Northern Illinois University in 1998.
