It was a busy day in the district, beginning with serving breakfast at Camp Summit to 70 junior high girls and counselors from Youth Hope. The breakfast included Mickey Mouse pancakes, which were well-received, totaling close to 250 pancakes.
Later, there was an appreciation event for police, fire, EMT personnel, and VIPs at Heritage Woods in Moline. This week’s theme at Heritage Woods is kindness, and it was appreciated by those who attended.
Afterwards, time was spent combining wheat at home. The harvest went smoothly as the wheat stood well despite recent storms and wind.
In the evening, the Knox County 4-H livestock auction took place. Attendees showed generosity towards 4-H members. A purchase was made of Logan Yeutson’s three meat hens.
Congratulations were extended to local 4-H exhibitors and leaders for their efforts and to the Knox County fair board for providing excellent facilities for youth activities.
