State Representative Dan Swanson (R-Alpha) participated in a commemorative event at the Illinois State Capitol, marking the 50th anniversary of the end of the Vietnam War. As Chairman of the House Veterans Affairs Committee, Rep. Swanson joined a group of veterans and a bipartisan contingent of legislators in recognizing the contributions of Vietnam veterans.
In his address, Rep. Swanson extended a heartfelt “Welcome Home” to Vietnam veterans, acknowledging their service and the challenges they faced upon returning from the war. The event, held on April 30, 2025, brought together members from various political affiliations to honor the sacrifices made by those who served.
