Rock Island County Governance, Health, and Administration Committee met Feb. 9.

Melissa Moreno Baker called the Governance, Health & Administration to order at 10:03 am
1. Roll Call: Melissa Moreno-Baker, Drue Mielke, Enyo Dewith, Johnny Woods, Cindy D. Ramos. Member Absent: Carla Enburg
Also present: Richard “Quijas” Brunk, Ellen Anderson Auditors Office, Patty Castro SAO, Chief Captain Jens Lape, Jim Nelson, Jared VanTieghem, Derrick Hendrickx Court Services, Jim Grafton County Administrator, Kurt Davis IT Director, Karen Kinney, Tammy Muerhoff Regional Superintendent of Schools.

4. Reports to Committee:
• County Clerk Karen Kinney gave her vital records report and an early voting report and sample ballots.
• Regional Superintendent of Schools Tammy Muerhoff gave a report on the MBAEA and RICORE Teacher Job Fair to be held on March 2nd from 3:30pm until 5:00pm at the Mississippi Bend AEA, 729 21st Street Bettendorf, IA 52722. Ms. Muerhoff also informed the Committee that Rock Island County Office of Regional Education will have a Student County Government day on April 20th from 9:00am until 1:30pm. This is an opportunity for High School Students to come and join us here in the County Building for an opportunity to talk to Elected Officials as well as a Judge. These Students will tour the Jail as well. We have not done this since the Pandemic.

County Board Chairman Brunk reported that contacts are still being made for Quad Cities Passenger Rail Service to insure everything continues to move smoothly and this come to fruition.
