The Rock Island Chief County Assessment Office said recently it was publishing changes to county assessments online as well as in print editions of the Dispatch-Argus, according to a press release.
According to Rock Island County's assessment webpage, the township assessor determines assessments over a four-year period, based on the Illinois Property Tax Code. This year is the third of a four-year period, making it a non-general assessment. During this time, the assessor values new properties and makes adjustments to properties already listed.
Individuals whose property assessments have changed will be notified by mail.
The last day to file a property assessment appeal is Monday, Oct. 16.
