City of East Moline Special Service Area Committee met Feb. 22.

Here are the minutes provided by the committee:

Roll Call: SSA – Adam, Michelle, Martin, John and Patricia (SSA & Main Street).

City – Annaka and Doug Absent Larry Guest: none present

Approval of Minutes: January– minutes were presented and a motion to accept as written by Martin with a second from Adam minutes are approved.

Financial Report – Financial report given by Annaka. Motion to approve Patricia second Martin reports passes Façade/Fencing Program – no new applications

Bills – Adam Guthrie: Patricia’s and Michelle’s for Respect Abilities, plus EMMS reimbursement for the memorial box at the library for Tony Banaszek. Motion by John with second from Martin, bills will be paid.

Directors Report – Adam: If anyone is interested in being a part of the SSA Board a letter of intent or a call to Reggie must be made.

Flower Report – Michelle Horton – group was out and there was a lot of trash to pick up. Flower order for spring has been made and will be coordinated with Michelle. Relocation of plants was discussed as we add concrete to Runner’s Park.

Main Street Report – Patricia Hansen: Patricia reported a great turn out at the February meeting at the Whiskey Stop. EMMS has asked the city for a donation towards the Concert Series, should be coming in the next few weeks. The Check for $4500 to go towards Phase 3 Runner’s Park was given from EMMS to Annaka that should be completed before end of May. Main Street Challenged the Aldermen for volunteer hours, and also to assist in a Clean up East Moline Event and also mentioned potentially doing City wide yard sales the day of Pickers but this may be a 2023 item.

Runner’s Park – Phase 3 is funded and scheduled for completion by the end of May. Todd from the city will be meeting with Patricia regarding the concrete.

9th Street Commons – The project will be moving forwarded. A motion to Pay Streamline 50% of their quote was made by Patricia with a second from John and to pay 50% to Meyer with a motion by Martin and a second by John. Hoping to do a ribbon cutting at this project end of May.

New Business – Potential termites along the North side of 15th avenue in the 8-900 block was discussed. Annaka took notes and will pass the information to the correct parties. Potentially removing the rock from War Memorial Park ourselves to decrease the cost was discussed. Patricia will ask Todd.

Motion to Adjourn by Patricia with a second by John, Meeting Adjourned.
