On February 19, 2026, United Township High School District 30 announced several updates and events for students and staff. The school district serves the Rock Island and Henry counties and includes United Township High School as part of its system. Lunch options for the day included Chicken Alfredo with a whole grain garlic bread stick, pepperoni calzone, green beans, mixed green salad, baby carrots with dip, applesauce, and craisins.

Students planning to bring a guest to the Sadies Dance scheduled for Saturday were reminded that they must submit a guest request form available in Student Services by the end of the day.

The Multicultural Club, iJAG, and HOPE Club are sponsoring Black History Month events next week. These include themed spirit days such as “I Have a Dream Spirit Day” (pajamas), “Black Love Day” (wearing black or red), “Sunday Best” (formal dress), “Pan-African Pride Day” (red, green, yellow or black clothing), and “Black Activism Day,” where students are encouraged to wear natural hair styles or cultural prints. A photo booth will be available during lunch periods on Friday.

The school is encouraging participation in the annual Polar Plunge to support Special Olympics athletes. Coaches, clubs, and organizations may either participate as teams or sponsor an athlete. Registration packets are available in the general office; team entries must be submitted by February 26.

Sadies Week continues with ticket sales for Sadie’s Winter Wonderland dance ending today at lunch—$13 for singles and $25 for couples. Questions can be directed to Student Council representatives.

Freshman IJAG students from Northeast Middle School were asked to meet Mr. Looten in the cafeteria on Friday morning between 7:30 am and 8:00 am for his quarterly check-in.

Guidance reminders included that February 26 is the final deadline to record community service hours required for graduation recognition via a Silver cord; no exceptions will be made after this date. Seniors interested in attending University of Missouri’s Trulaske College of Business should see Mr. Davis before March 1 regarding four new opportunities for spring graduates.

Several club announcements were made: Student Council meetings are suspended this week due to Sadies Week activities; Gamers Club meets Friday in room 149N; P7 will hold its next meeting at 7:20 am Friday in room 251N with donuts provided; ice cream will also be sold after school on Friday by Student Council for $3 per serving.

Winners of the Black History Month Door Decoration Contest were announced by Multicultural Club: first place went to Ms. CJ & Hope Club; second place to Mrs. Rose Hernandez; third place to Ms. Dolk. Winners were asked to email Mrs. Ripslinger with their participant numbers.
