United Township High School District 30 announced on March 13 a series of updates and upcoming events for students and families, including information about graduation, extracurricular opportunities, and special programs.
The announcement provides important details for seniors preparing for graduation. Seniors and their families are encouraged to visit the Senior Information 2026 page on the district website to stay informed about graduation procedures. Cap and gown pickup is scheduled for Thursday, April 23, from 10:45 AM to 1:15 PM in the Hall of Values.
Students interested in earning the Seal of Biliteracy can now register for the test by accessing QR codes posted throughout the school or by contacting Mr. Z in the counseling office. Juniors considering a career in business are invited to apply for the free Tippie Gateway Summer Program at the University of Iowa’s Tippie College of Business. The application window runs from March 2 through April 17, with more information available from Mr. Davis, College & Career Advisor.
Additionally, students can participate in a one-week Heavy Metal Summer Experience camp at the Quad City Electrical Training Center from June 22 through June 26. The program introduces students to careers in building trades through hands-on activities with industry professionals. Interested students should see Mr. Davis for further details.
The district also announced that football and soccer cheer tryouts will take place on April 10, with optional clinics offered on April 7 and April 8. Flyers around school provide sign-up information or students may contact Coach Lauren or Coach Rikki directly.
United Township High School District 30 serves Rock Island and Henry counties and includes United Township High School according to Illinois Report Card. The district enrolled 1,705 students during the 2019-2020 school year and serves grades nine through twelve in East Moline and Rock Island County according to Illinois Report Card. The student body is composed of approximately 51.3 percent White, 16 percent Black, 25.5 percent Hispanic, and 2.9 percent Asian students according to Illinois Report Card.
