United Township High School District 30 released several announcements on March 12 regarding upcoming events, student opportunities, and school activities.
The information is important for students and families to stay updated on graduation procedures, extracurricular activities, and special programs. Seniors are reminded that graduation is approaching on May 30. Those who ordered caps and gowns can pick them up on April 23 in the Hall of Values between 10:45 AM and 1:15 PM. The Ink Pit Production Studio has opened its annual shop with new items designed by ACC Graphic Arts students. Orders are due by March 13, with delivery set for April 13. Mrs. Jackson in room 187V is available for questions about the shop.
A Harmony Day concert featuring the choir and visiting seventh- and eighth-grade students will take place at 7 p.m. in the Auditorium, including Tri-M induction. Admission is free.
Juniors interested in business careers can apply for the Tippie Gateway Summer Program at the University of Iowa’s College of Business, which runs from March 2 to April 17. The program allows participants to experience college life and explore business career options at no cost. Additionally, students can attend a free one-week camp at the Quad City Electrical Training Center from June 22 through June 26 as part of the Heavy Metal Summer Experience program.
Other announcements include tryouts for football and soccer cheer teams on April 10, a Bass Fishing Club meeting today at 3:15 p.m., a donation drive honoring Women’s History Month organized by the Honey Bees club, and ongoing Music in Our Schools week activities.
United Township High School District 30 serves Rock Island and Henry counties according to Illinois Report Card. The district enrolled approximately 1,705 students during the 2019-2020 school year and covers grades nine through twelve according to Illinois Report Card. The district spent $19,622 per student in that year, totaling $33,454,743 according to Illinois Report Card.
The teaching staff consists of ninety-six teachers earning an average salary of $65,666 before pension contributions; about half are women (48.3 percent) while men make up slightly more than half (51.7 percent). No teacher had more than ten absences during a school year according to Illinois Report Card.
Demographically, United Township High School District is composed of approximately fifty-one percent White students, sixteen percent Black students, twenty-five percent Hispanic students, and nearly three percent Asian students according to Illinois Report Card.
