United Township High School District 30 is encouraging parents and guardians to participate in the 5Essentials Survey, a research-based tool designed to help improve school performance. The survey focuses on five key indicators that are linked to better student attendance and academic achievement.
According to the district, those interested in taking the survey need to click on the provided link, enter their county of residence, search for United Township High School at 1275 Avenue of the Cities in East Moline, and indicate how many children they have enrolled at the school. The responses are anonymous.

The Illinois State Board of Education reports that District 30 employs 96 teachers with an average salary of $65,666 before pension contributions; about half are women and half are men. None of these teachers had more than ten absences during a school year.

Chronic truancy was reported among 78 students in District 30 during the 2020 school year—representing a rate of about 4.6 percent—which is lower than Illinois’ statewide average chronic truancy rate of nearly ten percent. Schools such as Gen. George Patton School District 133 have rates as high as seventy percent.
