United Township High School District issues March updates on activities and student support

United Township High School District 30, which serves students in Rock Island and Henry counties, released its latest school announcements for March 4, 2026. The district operates United Township High School in East Moline and serves grades nine through twelve. According to the Illinois State Board of Education, the district enrolled 1,705 students during the 2019-2020 school year and spent $19,622 per student that year, with total expenditures reaching $33,454,743. The school’s cafeteria menu for the day features cheese garlic French pizza and a new honey BBQ chicken sandwich served on a whole grain bun. Oven-baked French fries, mixed green salad, and assorted fresh fruit are also available.

Skyline staff are encouraging Panther fans to share their photos from Sadies or other events from the current school year. Students can submit pictures by scanning QR codes posted in various locations around campus using the code UTHS SKYLINE.

In guidance news, seniors are reminded to review scholarship opportunities as new options have been added. Many scholarships have deadlines before spring break and include academic awards as well as those related to trades. Seniors with questions are encouraged to contact Mrs. Drish.

A representative from the University of Wisconsin – Platteville will visit United Township on Monday, March 9 during Period 4. Students interested in learning more about programs such as engineering, agriculture, criminal justice, and technology should sign up in the Counseling Office.

Sports tryouts for football and soccer cheerleading teams will take place April 10th. Optional clinics will be held on April 7th and 8th; details are available on flyers around campus or by contacting Coach Lauren.

Several clubs have announced upcoming meetings:
– Fosters Voice meets Thursday morning at 7 am in the auditorium.
– Gamers Club gathers Friday in room 149N.
– P7 meets Friday at 7:20 am in room 251N for games and snacks.

The Honey Bees club is organizing a donation drive honoring Women’s History Month through March 12th. Donations of items such as shampoo, deodorant, feminine hygiene products, blankets or toothbrushes can be dropped off at rooms 121E or 187V.

United Township High School District 30 is made up of a diverse student body: approximately 51 percent White students, with Black students representing about 16 percent, Hispanic students making up roughly one quarter of enrollment (25.5 percent), and Asian students accounting for nearly three percent (2.9 percent). – The district employs a total of ninety-six teachers earning an average salary of $65,666 before pension contributions; just over half (51.7 percent) are men while women make up about forty-eight percent (48.3 percent).

Chronic truancy rates remain below statewide averages: seventy-eight students were classified as “chronically truant” during the last measured school year—a rate of about four point six percent—compared to a statewide average near ten percent.
