United Township High School District 30 has announced several events and reminders for students and staff as of February 26, 2026. The district, which serves Rock Island and Henry counties and includes United Township High School, is preparing to celebrate Black History Month with a series of themed days organized by the Multicultural Club, iJAG, and HOPE Club. Students are encouraged to participate in Pan-African Pride Day by wearing red, green, yellow, or black. Black Activism Day will follow, where students can wear natural hair styles, BLM apparel, or cultural prints. A photo booth will be available in the Commons during lunch periods.
The school is also calling for participation in the annual Polar Plunge event to support Special Olympics teams and athletes. Coaches, clubs, and organizations can join as a team or sponsor an athlete. Polar Plunge packets are available in the general office and teams must be registered by today.
Skyline staff is requesting that students share their Sadies dance photos or other school year pictures using a QR code displayed in the north hallway Skyline display case and near announcement boards by drinking fountains. The school code for submissions is UTHS SKYLINE.
In guidance news, students must report their community service hours by February 26 to qualify for the Silver cord at graduation. Seniors interested in attending the University of Missouri’s Trulaske College of Business should apply by March 1 for four available opportunities aimed at Spring 2026 graduates.
Upcoming student activities include the Panther Pant scheduled for April 22 with one-mile and three-mile races beginning at 5:30 pm and 6:00 pm respectively. Updates can be obtained from Student Council meetings held every Friday morning. Unified Sports members have a meeting planned on March 3 to discuss upcoming events.
Tri-M members are reminded that today’s after-school meeting in the Choir Room is mandatory ahead of Music in Our Schools Week.
