Maryann Wherry will host a free talk Wednesday about a local mystery writer.
Dr. Maryann Wherry will give a free talk on local mystery writer Charlotte Murray Russell Wednesday at the Rock Island Main Library.
Wherry, a local historian and American studies professor, will discuss the life and work of Russell, who was the bestselling author of 20 mystery novels. She also worked at the Rock Island Public Library following her writing career and taught languages at Rock Island High School.
The talk will begin at 2 p.m.
The Rock Island Main Library is located at 401 19th St.
