The City of Rock Island will close the intersection of 23rd Street and Sixth Avenue Thursday as crews resume their work on new sidewalks, pedestrian ramps, sewer and pavement repairs.
The closure is expected to last through the completion of the project, around May 6, weather permitting.
City officials encouraged residents to plan for alternate routes and to expect delays in the area.
Nearby local businesses will be accessible via 23rd Street and Fifth Avenue.
