Bicycle Rock Island to hold meeting focused on improving biking convenience

Bicycle Rock Island, a local group, will hold a public meeting on April 12 in the Community Room of the Rock Island Public Library to develop ideas for improving the safety and convenience of biking in Rock Island.

The meeting was announced during Mayor Dennis Pauley's latest "Update Rock Island" presentation at Tuesday's Rock Island City Council meeting.

Pauley also announced the opening of 2016 picnic shelter reservations, discounted family memberships to Whitewater Junction for those who sign up on April 22 at RIFAC, and the annual police dance and taco dinner at the Plumbers & Pipefitters Local 25 at 4600 Blackhawk Road, scheduled for 8 p.m. this Saturday.
