Augustana golfer Melanie Loeffler finished tied for seventh in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Championships held recently at Naperbrook Golf Course in Plainfield, according to athletics.augustana.edu.
Loeffler, a freshman from Homer Glen, shot an opening-round 75, followed by scores of 86 and 82, for a three-round score of 243.
Her placing was the highest for a Viking at the CCIW Championships since 2008, when Rachel Gahn also finished seventh. It also was the program's second-best individual placing ever at the meet, exceeded only by Gahn's third-place showing in 2007.
Jordan Koehler was this year's meet medalist, with a score of 235.
The Vikings finished fifth in the team standings. Individually for Augustana, Jenna Lawrence was 22nd with a 262, Grace Ludwig was 24th with a 264, Chelsea Meyer was 28th with a 275, Korina Freidag was 31st with a 283 and Jenna Stone was 39th with a 299.
