Alleman Catholic High School students and athletes banned together for their annual tradition of raising money through dance, and it was a rousing success.
This marked the fourth annual Alleman dance fundraiser, where students of the school worked to support children and families served by the University of Iowa Children’s Hospital through the Children’s Miracle Network. In the four years since they began holding the fundraiser, Alleman students have raised more than $100,000.
More than 70 percent of the students attended this year, where more than 300 active dancers raised upwards of $43,000. That number breaks the previous fundraising record of $26,000.
This event took place at Alleman High, in the Don Morris Gym, as Alleman worked together with St. Ambrose to raise funds. St. Ambrose saw Alleman's contribution, and gave an extra $220,000 from its own dance fundraiser.
