Rep. Dan Swanson (R-Alpha) has done his part to cut some of the red tape that hinders state government, according to a press release.
Swanson sponsored House Bill 3188, which Gov. Bruce Rauner signed into law during Illinois State Fair Agriculture Day in Springfield. It was Swanson's first piece of legislation to be enacted.
HB3188 repeals the David A. Wirsing Food Animal Institute Act, which was enacted in 2004 but never implemented. The act established the Food Animal Institute to review and encourage research and disseminate information about the food animal industry, but only a few appointments were made to the institute's board.
Gov. Bruce Rauner, right, recently signed into law legislation sponsored by Rep. Dan Swanson (R-Alpha).
“Gov. Rauner asked his directors to help reduce legislation that limits businesses or creates extra burdens and red tape," Swanson said in the press release. “My bill repeals the David A. Wirsing Food Animal Institute Act, which was created but never implemented.”
