The Illinois Department of Employment Security (IDES) recently held an open house at its Rock Island American Job Center, 500 42nd St., to showcase the facility's enhanced array of services.
The open house, attended by IDES Director Jeff Mays, Deputy Director Trina Taylor and officials from the Quad Cities area, highlighted the new on-site operation at 500 42nd St. that paves the way for job seekers and businesses to have unlimited access to all the programs and services offered by IDES, an IDES release said.
“The office is more accessible to the public and we’ll offer a wider array of services by virtue of expanding the office at the American Job Center,” Mays said in the release. “IDES takes special pride in the relationships we have with our partner agencies in state government and collaborations like this are for the public good. We are proud to enhance these services in Rock Island.”
Taylor added the expansion efforts serve as a reaffirmation of the center’s dedication to area residents and its commitment to connecting employers to jobseekers.
