Small businesses in Iowa may be eligible for financial assistance in getting their products marketed to larger audiences, a recent Quad Cities Chamber of Commerce news release said.
The International Trade Office of the Iowa Economic Development Authority can reimburse eligible companies up to 75 percent of certain expenses related to international marketing in trade shows that qualify or international services in particular markets.
To be eligible for the assistance, which comes in partnership with the State Trade Expansion Program of the Small Business Administration, companies have to have fewer than 500 employees with a minimum of 75 percent of them employed in Iowa, meet size guidelines as established by the SBA, be eligible for federal funding, and have its products or services originate in Iowa.
Funding is done on a first-come, first-served basis and have to a minimum of 45 days before an event.
