Orion Community Unit School District 223 Board met Nov. 14.
Here is the minutes provided by the Board:
A special Board meeting was held in conjunction with the Orion Education Association’s town hall style meeting.
The meeting was called to order at Orion Middle School, 800 12th Avenue, Orion, Illinois, at 6:33 p.m. by Board President Nedved. Present were members Abbott, Cooper, Kane, Kayser, Monson, Nedved, and Nightingale.
Each Board member introduced themselves and told a little bit about themselves to the audience.
OEA members asked various questions concerning the school district. Topics included surveys, educational support for global thinkers, district facilities, class sizes, Reading/Language Arts, discipline, school consolidation, academic performance, parent education, and replacing retiring teachers. Superintendent Blessman and Board members answered questions and participated in the discussion of the topics.
Board member Monson left the meeting at 8:06 p.m.
Motion by Nightingale, second by Abbott to adjourn. Voice Vote: All Ayes. MOTION CARRIED.
The meeting adjourned at 8:40 p.m.
