Odell Public Library Board met Jan. 10.

Here is the minutes provided by the Board:

The January 10, 2018 board meeting opened at 5:32 pm in the program room of the library. Board members present were Marc Adami, Sarah Bull, Anne Frame, Jan Horberg, Melissa Nyboer, Sarah Thorndike, and Chris Vanderleest. Staff members Lori Matlack and Lisa Boles were in attendance. Vern Tervelt was also in attendance.

General Business: A) The minutes of the December meeting were approved by voice vote on a motion by Chris Vanderleest, second by Jan Horberg. B) Bills and salaries in the amount of $8,960.18 were approved, motion by Jan Horberg, second by Anne Frame. (roll call vote-7 ayes, 0 nay). C) The treasurer’s report was accepted. D) The Director’s report was discussed and received.

Unfinished Business: A) The Building Repair report was received. B) Board members were reminded to complete the FY2018 Per Capita Requirements by Friday, January 12, 2018, if not already completed.

New Business: A) To assure compliance with new Illinois law concerning sexual harassment, it was moved to replace the library’s current Harassment Free Policy with the Policy Prohibiting Sexual Harassment provided by the Illinois Library Association. Motion by Sarah Thorndike, second by Anne Frame, passed with a voice vote. B) The February board meeting was moved to Wednesday, February 7, 2018 to avoid conflicts with Ash Wednesday. It was decided to leave the March meeting date as originally scheduled. Motion by Anne Frame, second by Sarah Thorndike, passed with a voice vote.

Board Ideas/Concerns: none

Public Comment: A) The Odell Public Library Friends’ report was received. B) Vern Tervelt reported

on various city activities.

The next meeting will be Wednesday, February 7, 2018 in the program room of the library.

The meeting adjourned at 6:20, motion Melissa Nyboer, second by Sarah Bull.
