City of New Boston Council met April 11.

Here is the minutes provided by the Council:

The City of New Boston met in regular session April 11,2018. Mayor DeFrieze opened the meeting at 7:00pm. Alderman present were Long, Stineman, Schreurs, Marston, Ramer, and Fourdyce. Police Chief Mike and Treasurer Tonya LeHew also attended the meeting.

Jason Guile was present for Public Forum.

Jason recently bought the property at 715 Oak St. He has worked very hard to clean the property up. He bought the property through auction and then found out that there were back City bills that were owed on the property. He asked the Council what he would have to pay. Long made the motion to forgive the back bills, seconded by Fourdyce. Roll call votes as follows: Long-aye, Stineman-aye, Schreurs-aye, Marston-aye, Ramer-aye, and Fourdyce-aye. Motion carried.

Ramer made the motion to approve the minutes, seconded by Marston, all aye votes, motion carried.

Fourdyce made the motion to approve the bills, seconded by Marston. Roll call votes as follows: Long-aye, Stineman-aye, Schreurs-aye, Marston-aye, Ramer-aye, and Fourdyce-aye. Motion carried.

Marston made the motion to approve the bills from the OSLAD Grant, seconded by Fourdyce. Roll call votes as follows: Long-aye, Stineman-aye, Schreurs-aye, Marston-aye, Ramer-aye, and Fourdyce-aye. Motion carried.

Fourdyce made the motion to approve the Treasurer’s Report, seconded by Stineman. Roll call votes as follows: Long-aye, Stineman-aye, Schreurs-aye, Marston-aye, Ramer-aye, and Fourdyce-aye. Motion carried.

Mike informed the Council on the updates at the Campground. He told them that the new shower house shower stalls were only 36” wide and needed to be 48” so valley was going to meet with him to correct the mistake. The old shower house has leaks and mold that need to be addressed. They are now down to 20 pads left to pour, and 4 more sewers that need to be ran. They are waiting on the bricks to do the fireplace. They are going to have to take a short break from the Campground in order to do some street repairs and other City work.

Mayor DeFrieze told the Council that Scott Coulter was willing to pay $2500 for the Chinery property. Long made the motion to sell Scott Coulter the Chinery property for $2500, seconded by Fourdyce. Roll call votes as follows: Long-aye, Stineman-aye, Schreurs-aye, Marston-aye, Ramer-aye, and Fourdyce-aye. Motion Carried.

Long told the Council he had a meeting with a company who is looking for property to put solar panels on. He asked if the City would be interested in meeting with the company, everyone agreed to seeing what they have to offer.

Ramer brought in an estimate to remove the asbestos from the Museum, Long mentioned maybe getting ahold of the company who is taking care of the school.

Ramer made the motion to adjourn the meeting, seconded by Marston, all aye votes, motion carried.
