Report: Riverdale spent $8,559 per student in 2016-17

Spending per pupil at Riverdale Community Unit School District 100 is down 6 percent from five years ago, according to a Rock Island Today analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2016-17 report card shows the Rock Island County school district spent $9,058 per pupil in 2012-13. It spent $8,559 in 2016-17.

The district saw its enrollment rise over the same period, from 1135 to 1177.

Riverdale's spending in 2016-17 was 34 percent lower than the state average of $12,973.
