Recognizing the importance of skills-based education, Lt. Gov. Evelyn Sanguinetti recently visited Sherrard High School in Mercer County.
The school showcases instruction in metal fabrication, television broadcasting and Chromebook repair, according to a Facebook post from Mercer Co. News shared by Mercer County Illinois Republicans.
“Sherrard High School is doing a magnificent job and I leave here with tremendous hope for our future, because when I grow up, I want to be just like all the students here at Sherrard, good job," Sanguinetti was quoted as saying in the Facebook post.

The other visitors were state Sen. Chuck Weaver (R-Peoria), U.S. Rep. Cheri Bustos (D-IL), and state Reps. Mike Halpin (D-Rock Island) and Dan Swanson (R-Alpha), the post said.
