WESTERN ILLINOIS UNIVERSITY RIVERFRONT CAMPUS: Phantom Regiment Plans Public Performance June 8 on Hanson Field

Western Illinois University Riverfront Campus recently issued the following announcement.

The summer training camp of the Phantom Regiment Drum and Bugle Corps will culminate with a free, public performance Friday, June 8 at 8:30 p.m. on Western Illinois University's Hanson Field. The event will showcase a portion of the corps' show for an upcoming tour, and will be held after their final night rehearsal at Western. [Rain location set for Western Hall]

The Rockford- (IL) based Phantom Regiment began its training camp on the campus of Western Illinois University May 20. The 150-member group and its 50-member staff will begin a 16-state tour competition Saturday, June 9. The musicians are men and women, ages 17-21, from across the United States.

Through June 8, rehearsals are held most days at 9:45 a.m., 2 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. on Hanson Field, Vince Grady Field and the Marching Leathernecks practice field, west of Olson Hall. A schedule of practices can be found at regiment.org/calendar/.

The rehearsals are open free to the public.
