Hampton Township Planning Commission met April 19.

Here is the minutes provided by the Commission:

A special meeting of the Charter Township of Hampton Planning Commission was called

to order at 6:30 p.m. by Chairperson, Basket, in the Hampton Township Hall.

Present: Mulders, Klass, Basket, Helminiak, Dewyse

AbsenT: Talaga, Brey

Also Present: Sheppard, Hebner, Close, Samyn, Schafer-Andress, Joe Dewyse,

Benchley and 8 people in the audience.

Open To The Public:

Dave & Karen Chevalier, 695 E Warner Rd, expressed their concerns regarding the horse barn at 951 N Callahan Rd being bought for a medical marijuana growing facility. They are concerned that that the property is going to look like a prison yard, with huge lights, fencing and security.

New Business:

The meeting was held for approval of the updated master plan and to recommend to the board of trustees to send out for public comments.

The attorney explained the time line for the master plan updates and the medical marijuana ordinance. After the public comment period of 42 days, the planning commission will hold a public hearing to adopt the master plan by resolution.

At this time the meeting was open to the public again.

Andrew Wilson, 708 Nebobish, addressed the board regarding a notice of a farm land split that occurred at the last meeting.

Motion by Mulders seconded by Dewyse to approve, send out for public review, and distribute the master plan to surrounding communities and hold a public hearing for approval after 42 days.

Ayes: Mulders, Dewyse, Helminiak, Klass, Basket

Nayes: None

Absent: Talaga, Brey

Motion carried

Motion by Mulders seconded by Dewyse that the meeting adjourn. Motion carried.

Meeting adjourned at 6:50 pm.
