Shane Knight, 1257 N. Pine Rd., appeared before the board to request a variance for the size of an accessory building. His original request, presented at the April 19, 2018 meeting, was to build a 1,200 sq. ft. (30x40) building. The revised request is a 768 sq. ft. (24x32) building. Based on the size of Mr. Knight’s home, he is allowed to have a building that is 652 sq. ft. This would be a variance request of 16%, whereas the original variance request was 85-90%. Attorney stated that if this variance is granted it should be with the condition that no other buildings should be allowed to be built on the property and that there should be no outdoor storage. Howell mentioned that other municipalities do allow larger sized buildings than Hampton. Spyhalski stated that it looks better if residents are storing things inside of a building rather than outside.

OPEN TO THE PUBLIC:

No one addressed the board.

Motion by Foret seconded by Brey, that the Board of Appeals of the Charter Township of Hampton, hereby reverses the denial of a building permit to Shane Knight at 1257 N. Pine Rd., under Notice of Appeal No. 18-01A, under the conditions that no other buildings are allowed to be built on the property and no outside storage is permitted.
