WESTERN ILLINOIS UNIVERSITY RIVERFRONT CAMPUS: Universitywide Kinder Mondays Program Continues

Western Illinois University Riverfront Campus recently issued the following announcement.

 Making the world a more kind place one Monday at a time.

Kinder Mondays, which started as a program created by two counselors from the Western Illinois University Counseling Center in Fall 2016, is now a Universitywide program that aims to bring a little more kindness into people's lives.

#WIUKinderMondays kicked off Aug. 20. Each Monday, a different University office (or offices) will serve as a Kinder Monday "host." The hope is that the kindness is paid forward, Amy Buwick, director of the University Counseling Center, said.

Offices, organizations and departments interested in serving as Kinder Monday ambassadors can contact Buwick at (309) 298-2453 or AJ-Buwick to be added to the KM list.

Kinder Monday hosts for the remainder of Fall 2018 include, to date:

Oct. 15 - University Relations, Sherman Hall 302, 9 a.m.-noon and 1-3 p.m. (WIU stickers)

Oct. 15 - University Technology, behind Stipes and outside of Union, 11 a.m.-1 p.m. (treat bags)

Oct. 22 - Office of Student Activities, University Union, location TBA (send a kind message to others)

Oct. 29 - Academic Success Coaches, Memorial Hall lobby, 9-11 a.m. (school supplies)

Nov. 5 - Veterans Resource Center, Ward Street across from the Alumni House

Nov. 12 - Student Development, University Union

Nov. 26 - Human Resources, Thompson and C/O dining centers, 11 a.m-1 p.m., clean tables and pick up trays

Dec. 3 - WIU Athletics, location TBA

Dec. 3 - Council of Academic Advisers, Stipes first floor and Memorial Hall lobby, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. (hot chocolate and cookies)
