The third annual Winter Iowa Senior Games are scheduled for Feb. 22 to 24 in Quad Cities.
As many as 250 men and women ages 50 and over, are expected to convene at the event presented by Health Alliance Medicare.
Six indoor events—bowling, pickleball, swimming, table tennis, indoor tennis and track and field are expected to be featured, with games scheduled to be held in Iowa and Illinois.
“The Winter Iowa Senior Games allows us to bring the events to the participants” Chuck Long, CEO and executive director of the Iowa Sports Foundation (ISF), said in a press release. “We’re excited to be back in the Quad Cities this February, and we look forward to putting on another great event.”
Gold, silver and bronze medals will be awarded to the top three individuals in each age group event.
Registration is open; participant registration is $28 through Jan. 21 and $33 from then until the Feb. 11 deadline. For registration and information for participants and volunteers, see www.iowaseniorgames.org.
Admission to the games is free.
