Report: Moline Coal Valley spent $10,697 per student in 2017-18

Spending per pupil at Moline Coal Valley Community Unit School District 40 is up 12.7 percent from five years ago, according to a Rock Island Today analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2017-18 report card shows the Rock Island County school district spent $9,488 per pupil in 2013-14. It spent $10,697 in 2017-18.

The district saw its enrollment rise over the same period, from 7136 to 7288.

Moline Coal Valley's spending in 2017-18 was 19.8 percent lower than the state average of $13,337.
