WQPT-TV - WIU recently issued the following announcement.
Macomb High School senior Camryn Lynn has been awarded a Western Illinois University President's Scholarship, which is a full-ride scholarship in conjunction with the $10,000 Western Commitment Scholarship. Together these scholarships cover four years of tuition, fees, a double residence hall room and standard board for eight semesters.
"I selected Western because of the exceptional interactions I have had with the University's faculty and staff thus far," said Lynn. "Other important factors in my decision included WIU's affordability and proximity to my family. I feel very fortunate to have access to an excellent University without needing to move hours away from home."
At Western, Lynn is interesting in exploring student organizations involved in volunteering and leadership activities. She plans to major in marketing and minor in Spanish.
In high school, Lynn was the captain of the speech team, led three student small groups and was an active volunteer in her community.
To qualify for the WIU President's Scholarship, students must have a minimum ACT score of 30 and been awarded WIU's Centennial Commitment Scholarship. The scholarship decision is also weighted by proof of volunteer and community service.
