The data shows that 54 men and five women were released in Rock Island zip code. Of the parolees, one is a veteran, and the median age was 37. The youngest parolee was a 20-year-old man convicted of a crime involving drugs in 2019, and the oldest was a 56-year-old man convicted of a crime involving drugs in 2012.
The offender who had been incarcerated the longest was David Greer. He was convicted of homicide in 1999, when he was 31 years old. He is now 52.
Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.
